Government provides further raise of wages for educators, announces Prime Minister

Pursuing the policy of improving social standards, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine provided further growth of teachers' salaries. The corresponding decision was passed during the Government sitting on January 11, on the proposal of Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman.

"Since January we will increase wages for the Ukrainian teachers," stressed Volodymyr Groysman.

The Head of Government reminded that this is the second wave of wage increases. In absolute figures, the wage rate will now amount UAH 6.5 - 8.5 thousand per month, depending on the category.

With this regard, the Prime Minister drew attention to the need to cooperate with local authorities to ensure salaries increases for educators whose pay is financed from local budgets. "This is a prime issue," the Head of Government noted, "I ask you to work out the necessary decisions to settle the situation on the ground".
